Letโ€™s improve together the circularity of African crops sidestreams!

During the project, an unexpected obstacle came up. We noticed mold growth on some plants, also visible in the field during harvesting. This challenge may unfortunately prevent the plant sidestreams from being reused. Great that our researchers in Innofoodafrica project are already testing and thinking of different pretreatment methods on the collected plant sidestreams. In the end, this would favor their application in the circular economy, giving them a second life as constitutive materials of packaging products for instance. … See MoreSee Less

Samp is a popular African dish consisting of dried and crushed corn kernels. Due to the time-consuming preparation of the dish, this product has not yet released its potential. We have developed a technology that results in a convenient ready-to-heat canned samp.
