Innovating together with temperate and tropical legumes
for sustainable agricultural and food systems

The 4th edition of the Rencontres Francophones Légumineuses, RFL4, has been taken place from January 22 to 24, 2024, in Dakar-Saly, Senegal. It puts together all those who are involved in development, supply chains and research into grain and forage legumes in order to share their knowledge and accelerate innovation around pulses.

This fourth edition, organized for the first time on the African continent, focused on all legumes, whether adapted to temperate or tropical climates. It considered seeds, forages and woody legumes, and aimed to cover the diversity of production systems, as well as the diversity of uses: food, feed and non-food.

It was for Innofood Africa researchers, Valérie Micard and Valérie Lullien-Pellerin from IATE-Institut Agro and INRAE a unique opportunity to present their last results on pasta made from climate-smart pulses.

More than 150 people (scientists, start-ups, seed companies, collecting organizations, industrialists, feed and food operators, etc.) attended the event, with a similar number by videoconference.
