During the project, an unexpected obstacle came up. We noticed mold growth on some plants, also visible in the field during harvesting. This challenge may unfortunately prevent the plant sidestreams from being reused. Great that our researchers in Innofoodafrica project are already testing and thinking of different pretreatment methods on the collected plant sidestreams.
